Excellent poster, whoever put that together is rather good. Its eyecatching, the colour is well balanced, the information is easily readable.

Someone, how about you get as many as your mates as possible to vote for Aotearoa Legalise cannabis Party, we'll make those "coffee shops" legal, you can then walk in legally with your head held high walking out with something to get the rest of you high [/size] icon_wink.gif Why do it illegal when together we can make it legal.

How do we know your not just another politician appearing to be for CLR , then not giving it your all or change stance once elected ??like soooo many others .
Can we trust you to give it your all once we help you get elected??

Just kidding .

by the way.. it seems even the police ( a govt dept) may well be considering letting those with minor cannabis possessions convictions to join the police force..

This is an actual excerpt from an internal discussion document on it.

They mentioned something about it that I've seen somewhere else, but I can't recall where.

The American army has been accepting past pot use for a couple of years, and the Aussies did so straight after that. They're sending them off to Iraq and Afganistan icon_twisted.gif

I like your ideas BudBeard

Quote:
Cafe upstairs with prime metropolitan location, polished wooden floors, nice bartop with glass display case full of a wide variety of top quality marijuana.
Cafe setting with some tables on the sidewalk, also serving refesments and cafe style food

especially the upstairs part so when the raids come (and if we build it they will come) the legal cafe down stairs could flick a switch sounding a siren upstairs so everyone could flush their stashes. Perhaps a rooftop smoking garden?

Ive seen photos of the cafe in Nimbin with everyone firing up. How do they avoid getting busted? Is it because it's BYO?

Like Stevoh as said i'd rather not have to woory about the FILTH I'd rather see ALCP get into the House of representatives first then enact a law change. That way we can all breath a little easier.

However it would be nice to see some other peoples ideas as i seem to be the only one following the thread topic rather than massdebating it.

On that note..

It would be nice to have some comfie chairs to kick back in..
It would be nice to have a good coffee machine..
It would be nice to have some good foodstuff, with and without THC content..
It would be nice to have a good soda fountain (Coke etc, free refills)...
It would be awsome to have an ice cream fountain.. =-)

Small rooms, chilled music, not too loud, echo reduction, sound control to prevent people's need to yell in a loud area.. a good TV room, News feeds, another area for video's.. again, not too loud, this is to enjoy, not yell..

It would be nice to have an outside area, or even an area like (The Empire in Auckland, semi-outside)..

It could be cool to have it be a small beer boutique and cannabis.. =)

I would kinda like to have my first coffee in a cannacafe owned and operated by Chris and Co from the hemp Store .I would expect he has held the dream for many years and put the effort in so does deserve to be first..

Then I would like to see some undercover , well planted , relaxing garden cannacafes in every hospital , Hospice, rehab unit and the like .

I expect Steveoh and others when elected into parliament on the ALCP ticket will ensure at least one cafe in the beehive becomes cannabis friendly , so when we go visiting we don't have to go outside on the steps like we do now.

Dorga has the right idea. Good coffee is essential.

I would favor making it alcohol free - there are plenty of places you can go for alcohol if that's your drug of choice.

The old cafe at Nimbin is cannabis and coffee only , Alcohol and drugs are off the menu. They are so anti drug and outspoken about they were fire bombed a few weeks ago by low life druggies as I understand it.

Hey Tony In the mid 90's I spent some time around Nimbin (not always for cannabis).

This time of year the streets kids from Melbourne move up to places like Byron, Nimbin, and the Gold Coast.

These kids tend to be needle users and they are the ones who "hassle" you as soon as you get out of the car "Hey you want to buy my pot, I've got the best deals" hassle hassle........

These kids tended to sleep where ever they could (under the bridge) and were paid by some suppliers in heroin.

For most "locals" even though they know that cannabis is there main economy they hate the industry that illegality creates.

But realistically if New Zealand agreed to a coffee shop styled outlets under regulation. No way would alcohol be allowed to be sold or consumed on the premises. More than likely the place have a 18 and over entry.

I can see myself sitting in one of these places rolling up some herb I've just purchased (going through the choices one by one Mmmmmmmm) and having a chin wag over decent coffee with a friend.

Steven

I get to Nimbin about once a year these days , used to live with a few of the locals from up at Mission beach , all went to the original festival back in 72 and they stayed , but now have a farm just out of town. Up until 2004 I used to be the only one in the cafe not smoking pot..Now of course its a different story.
(grin).

Its sad to see how the crack heads , Ice and other hard drugs have gained a foot hold.Low life from Sydney and Melbourne send addict dealers up there who deal the stuff as well as hydro cannabis. The pub is a supermarket of drugs and down in the park is a real shooting gallery , needles and Ice , kids of 12 and 14 selling the stuff , I actually find it scary to be in that part of town these days , day or night.. You have to lock your doors , the addicts will steal anything not nailed down..
I gather some of the locals are even encouraging the police and feeding them info its got so bad... I gather thas what was behind the cannacafe getting fire bombed the other day .

Funny how when Nimbin was a cannabis town it was so safe and little crime , even the local cops had little to do , it was only the odd efforts of the Federal or state police trying to be seen to be interested that caused any problems..

Trouble is the dealers have a ready market with the jet setters from Byron bay and the GC who pop up to Nimbin.. And so it only going to get worse .
bloody shame..really is.

Regardless of who opens it or where it is in NZ, South Australia, Nimbin or Amsterdam the menu would have to be the most important.

So whats your pleasure today? Some kickass hydro or how about some organic White Widow?
