ive had enough, whos with me? Posted: Wed Jul 09, 2008 9:20 am |

this is the third day in a row i havnt slep more than 2 hours, i wrote this nice little peaceful letter yesterday...
| Quote: | ever since i was young ive experienced bouts of insomnia on and off, ive been on various prescriptions from my doctor including zopiclone (the only legal medication that worked for me).
zopiclone can only be taken for one month in every year because its that bad for you, overdose can result in serious illness and ultimately death.
i have experianced using marijuana medically and it works wonderfully. I sleep well, I wake up nice and early, full of energy to go out and work a 10 hour shift or what not.
what is so wrong about me using medicinal marijuana if it is improving my quality of life with little or no side effects, when its ok for you to give me prescription drugs which are extremely dangerous in comparison?
what is the reasoning behind with holding medication from people that will improve their quality of life?
my health is deteriorating because i can no longer use zopiclone as its adverse effects are almost unbareable, without a good nights sleep i'm next to useless during the day, unable to work and sustain a quality of life that people without my condition take for granted.
what is your justification for with holding my right to live life as everyone else does? |
after lying in bed for 4 hours, sleeping for 1 hour, waking up and trying to get back to sleep for another hour, im not feeling so nice anymore.
had to edit this message it was far too angry and im just not an angry person
so damn frustrating aye.

people tell me i have a drug addiction... look i dont whinge once if i dont have marijuana. when i dont sleep for prolonged periods of time because im being with held from the only medication that works is when i whinge.

| Your solution simple, do what I do and grow your own. Despite 5 cultivation for pers convictions, I have continued to grow. |

You have my sympathy SMR, though its not nearly as serious as your problem. I've also found pot the absolute very best to get me back to sleep when I occasionally wake up in the middle of the night and can't 'drop off' again.
A year or so ago there was an attempt in Canterbury to organise some growers to supply their clippings/bottom leaves in order to make butter/cookies for medpot users. All the 'ducks' were in a 'row' regards butter-making and cookie-baking, plus collection, storage and distribution. A few growers said yes but it never happened. Consequently I'm not so sympathetic these days when non-med growers get busted |

| I have no sympathy for smokers who don't have the 'balls' to stand up to this stupid law. A med user deserves it no more or less than I do. |

shot for the support people
i agree with you to a certain point dakta, it should be legal for everyone... but its like a hostage situation... if you're gonna keep the hostages at least let the children free, nah mean?
but yeah ive done my share of growing my own, HPS lights got taken by police in a raid and i cant afford to buy another one and certainly cant afford to go to jail, ive got far too many convictions already to risk another one
after being convicted for 0.2 grams i really wish someone would just man up and dong jim anderton in the head. aint gonna be me though |

| Can I suggest you also send it to Judy Turner of Peter Dunne's party, United Future ? Last time I looked she was their medpot person, though not totally onto it, low level of comprehension : is probably likely to think you've been using too much speed, duh. |

| Judy.Turner[at]parliament.govt.nz should do it. Thats how you email any of them, as long as you have their name correct. |

Dear M
Thank you for your message of 9 July on the subject of the medicinal use of cannabis.
I have no problem with the therapeutic use of any substance, including marijuana and its derivatives, which relieves suffering and distress. But I can only endorse such use if it is developed or manufactured to a consistent standard in secure conditions and is prescribed under the supervised use of a medical practitioner.
We permit the medicinal use of many substances which are prohibited for other purposes. The classic instance is opiates. But for very good safety and abuse reasons people are not permitted to grow and process their own opium poppies. Medicinal use of marijuana falls into the same category.
There is provision now for the use on application of marijuana for medicinal purposes under the Medicines Act, we are aware of some promising research being undertaken in this area, and I am advised that an application for the use of cannabis in some treatments is now being processed.
Yours sincerely
Jim Anderton
Associate Minister of Health
M P for Wigram and Leader of the Progressive Party

i never thought id see jim anderton say that... its like all the politicians have the same letter that they copy and paste back to emails concerning marijuana |

yep same spin he has been sending out for years ,
Lets hope the associate or minister of health in the new Govt has less of a personal agenda and more inclined to listen to the medical experts .. Its only a 6 month wait.
