| Parkwise (yes the parking wardens) used to be fairly like minded, most of those that were have moved on in the recent couple of months unfortunately so you're much less likely to talk your way out of a ticket by lucking across a mellow warden. |

I find retail/hospo stores that do work shifts are usually ok with smokers as well as IT companies- my olds work in transporting freight and they have a lot of smokers as well. My mans colleagues are my best buyers too... _________________ Our lives are full of ethical dilemmas... |

I'm not a big fan of people being under the influence at work, or at least not in jobs where they're dealing with the public. I left my old salon for that reason; it might have been cool to hit a rave with those guys, but they did a pretty crap job when they were doped out all the time. Mind you, having lived with stylists from a far more 'up-market' salon, I think pretty much 70% of all hairdressers are doped up most of the time. _________________ Remember, what the dormouse said... |

Don't be too specific , some of these posts come a bit close to identifying individual premises ..

I don't think working while under the influence is very professional either- just the same as drinking while on the job. A person I knew once bragged that he got a job in the fast food business by finding a tinnie for the person that interviewed him. _________________ Our lives are full of ethical dilemmas... |

LOL thats a hard one.... but it all depends on the boss and what enviroment your working in and i can tell you from past experience that just because the boss is a smoker doesn't mean as a cool as hippie who doesn't give a fuk, my last boss that smoked was a total prick. _________________ ROLL IT UP, LIGHT IT UP, SMOKE IT UP |

I used to work in a now defunct Auckland comic store. Friday nights would involve downing a couple of Crown lagers (while we were still open) with my manager (and friend), hiding said beer from the owner (so he wouldn't drink it and would give us money to buy more), and being told by my manager that as my boss he was ordering me to light up. If I tried to protest, he'd blow smoke in my face until I surrendered.
At the end of the night we'd leave a note telling the guy who opened up on Saturday to clean up our mess... |

Thats sounds like it was cruisy, and on a Friday night too.
When I was late teens/early 20s I worked 3 jobs. One was really busy waitressing where you could not be stoned at all at an Italian restaurant on KRd. But the other two were artwork and typography where focus, speed and accuracy were called for. Exactly right for me, stoned or not, and neither employer ever noticed the difference. It was great but I went away for a few years and when I came back my job was now done on computers ! It wasn't the same having to relearn shit you already knew so I changed occupations. Never got it as cruisy again as those earlier jobs though, shame |

Sadly most are also dodgey cunts, its not cool to have your shit seized (snatched) and get told the cops are coming only to find the rent-a-cop smoking it all later _________________ Drink! Sex! Cigarettes!

Hey im a rent a cop mate lol, and I would most likely do the same thing lol...although word of advice, you don't have to hand it over...we can't actually search you or seize your stash unless you willingly give it to us lol.
Just make sure its not one of the old buggers that will ring the cops prior to approaching you lol...if its a young gun ask if the care for a puff lol. _________________ Admit nothing, deny everything and make counter-accusations |
