| I can think of many reasons I'd like it to be low-profile. Why would I want it to be high-profile? Obscurity is just another layer of security, and they all help. |

| Just wondering what the new friendly warning and disclaimer tolls. Has it always been there? Where does the breadcrumb trail lead? |

hey jasbo, don't worry, we will continue to be *very* hands-off™ with regard to the forum - the main reason the disclaimer is because there are some governmental websites out there that refuse to link to us unless we have one.
We are trying to appear as a serious, sober, trusted and respected political lobbying organisation - we are trying not to look like a load of incoherent wasters talking about how fucked up they got on (poly)drugs.
No-one within NORML has the energy to go around censoring the thousands and thousands of non-marijuana posts, so you are unlikely to notice much change to the forum. But don't be surprised if a post (or an avatar or a signature) is deleted. It may happen. We reserve the right. That's all.
maybe Chris will say more. |

To be honest I think the forum should be for Marijuana only.
Although, if a 'Off topic' room was added to the forum, that would allow us to talk about anything else - drug related or not, and any posts in any of the other rooms not related to marijuana would get deleted. |

yes, i know what tweak is. but what do you mean link the off topic room to tweak?
norml will be marijuana only, but have a small section which will allow members to discuss other matters. tweak wont have anything to do with it. |

| chris wrote: | Ok, so now having been contacted by tweak, they would really like us to encourage everyone who wants to discuss other drugs to go there, rather than have us work at reinventing the wheel. I checked out the site and it looks like the bizness.
| Quote: | Hi Chris. I'm the admin for tweak.org.nz. I just read your thread about possibly setting up a seperate forum to take the harder drug/hookup discussion away from NORML. I think that's an excellent idea, as I think marijuana decriminalisation is an achievable goal, and that kind of discussion on the NORML forums could just invoke a negative knee-jerk reaction form people who might otherwise be willing to listen to your cause.
That's why I set up Tweak originally. I wanted there to be a New Zealand focussed forum for all drugs (hookups fully allowed), with no need to maintain a semi-legal stance the way the NORML forums do.
Tweak also has all the private messages stored encrypted as an extra layer of safety, and we also have an instant messaging server.
So instead of setting up drugtalk.co.nz, I'd love if perhaps you could consider Tweak as an already partially established forum with the same goal. I'd love the opportunity to work with the NORML team to responsibly serve the drug community in NZ. |
Sounds good to me.
Regards,
Chris Fowlie |

This site is its own entity, it is dedicated to cannabis, It wants no part in having other drugs discussed here, but does provide an alternative.
It would be wise to have an Off Topic link to tweak. _________________ A pain free day the marijuana way.
