TradeMe warning on One News Posted: Sat Oct 11, 2008 2:48 pm |

| Did anyone see the story on One News last night. It was all about Bad People using Good People's wireless internet connection to sell stolen goods through TradeMe. Personally if you can't be bothered to use a bit of security (WEP, WPA, Whatever...), then tough noogies to you. BUT, the picture for the news story had a laptop with a cannabis leaf on it. Absolutely no mention of pot in the actual segment... |

I didn't actually see it, I was only listening while I was looking at my computer.
I know one person who has complained, and someone else who is preparing a complaint. Hopefully other people had a bleat to TV1 about it, it wasn't a good look and makes you wonder what the producers there are on. |

Also big warning regarding people using ur connection for YUCK porn, as well as the trademe issue.
Maybe the new site could have a security comp section....help out people stay safe from these things? Plenty people on here have good comp knowledge so lets keep our clan safe. |

because wireless security is optional and not mandatory the setup software for setting up a wireless router excludes setting up any security features. Personally I would go with no less than WPA2 using AES and a passphrase consisting of letters numbers and symbols longer than 10 digits. _________________ A pain free day the marijuana way.
