Only way cops can get your ip address through this site is if they lure you onto a trap site, a site that only you know about and they link you too in a pm or email, they own it so can see the ip then it all goes from there.
They cant get your ip just from this site. Dont talk to people out of this site, dont use email addresses, not even hushmail, and they cant fuck with you. |

Think you read it wrong i said 'dont talk to people out of this site' as in, dont use contact like email, phone, and so on. Just pm on this site only and theres no way they can get your ip. |

To get your IP# they dont even need to set up a site, just a link with their computers IP# and a port#, so not clicking on unknown links is a good start.
However, phpNuke, which this site runs on, used to be particulary vunerable to things like private message cross-site scripting which enabled cookie theft and unauthorised account access. Microshaft has enough security flaws, I'm sure there are still many other ways to access private info.
When antihacking laws were introduced here, some people felt the Police etc were exempt, they neither confirmed nor denied. Their cybercrime unit puts most effort into investigating drug trafficking.
I'm not saying anyone/norml is an easy target, just that technically, you/it could be. Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

I think that goes for most of us Steveoh..
Anyone who who thinks if they can't track you down if they wanted to may be misguided.
I have had this exampled in another in another secure group I participate in..They have the technology or access to it to just about do anything.. I am not a techno on this only seen examples of the end result.

Unless this site is really badly coded or some crap, or got major security holes, they cant track you through it. I know several people who own php boards(like this one) that are about not so legal stuff, and trust me the many govt's and other agencies would LOVE to get there hands on ip's from those sites, but they cant.
Especially the NZ police, thier fucking useless. |

Every society needs to employ it's rat catchers, there is no need to loathe their asses, but for political action to take Mary Jane tokers off their list of individuals to be apprehended and charged. This is a political issue that will not be resolved by being critical of the police even though a small percentage may behave in a small minded way.
Only politics will remove the harm caused by prohibition. |

I totally understand that...let me rephrase that, the time they spend monitoring this site could be much better spent going after real criminals instead they target those who pose no real threat to society...I don't hate police, just hate that they go after easy targets.

well i have good reason to loath the filth. but really its only 15 of them
so i cant hate them all. the reason being is how they are power hungry ,thrive on belittling decent folk and planting evidence ,forging documents for procuring gain ,Telling lies in court to get what they want
,assaulting my wife and arresting her for abusive behaviour.
i feel they are not just doing their job they get paid to do but put their own little terrorism in when they can.
I admit they do do an OK job busting assholes who need it but they all need to take an anger management course.
They can all go and shit and fall back init as far as im concerned.
but thats just my opinion. |
