The world is a cruel cruel place. A mate scored me a large last night and I was gonna pick it up this morning. So, I call them just to find out that the person they took home last night robbed them! And took all their money
What kind of cruelty is this? And apparently it was very very nice and I didn't even get to SMELL it.

Come on, spill your biggest disappointment ever. it'll take my mind off that FILTHY LARDARSE that stole my happiness icon_cry.gif

How well do you know your "mate"? He could very well have made up that story and kept your money for himself...

If you are paying you are stupid

Without more knowledge of both the circumstances and his 'mate' I think it would be hard to conclude that he was 'ripped off'. He vouches for his mate anyway. Nevertheless they may be more to this state of affairs then he let you know. Just hope that it all gets sorted and put it behind you.

Listen to everyone icon_lol.gif I've never been ripped off $$ or pot like that but I've heard of it.

I've been burgled though a few times, some good stories. I lost my mum's wedding ring in one, then a year later a 'mate' was putting her fag up to her mouth and on her finger was the ring. She'd lost weight and put her rings back on. She'd taken that one for a foil off some thief, whose name I found out. He was in jail by then, so was a friend of mine.

Another time I lost a really nice onyx and marcasite necklace. My uber favourite, it was the first nice thing I'd bought when I moved to Chch and was working, took ages to pay it off. Two years after that burglary I was in Auckland visiting a mate who'd moved up there. We decided to go out, she decided to wear the necklace. Some thief had bought leather goods from her before she moved, she makes great belts and bags. In lieu of all cash she got my necklace. But what extra luck, she also saw a very distinctive belt stolen from me in same burglary, and took a pattern off it. So I got my necklace back, and she made me another belt. Got a name for that too, and followed it up when I got home.

yay, nice to see you got something back

it's a sad world when you can't trust people eh? what goes round comes round though. i firmly believe that the people who do most harm will be harmed at some point. sometimes of course one must dish out the harm oneself icon_twisted.gif

I think it was minor miracle, v v lucky. There are a couple of other good stories but they're too long to post here. One quick one -

I called in to visit two friends one evening in their new flat, they said 'we'd love a dak, will you pop down the road and get us one pleeeeeeze' so I went to the local gang hq, rang the bell and got one. Blatted back down the road, we opened the foil and there was no head in it, it was either taxed to death or didn't contain any to start with. I was outraged, said wait a minute, hopped back onto bike, back down the road, same butler came to the gate, I said give me my money back there was no head in that there foil, I don't want more rubbish. And he refunded me icon_eek.gif

But he did know me though. When I razzed his bosses about it they gave him heaps for being soft icon_lol.gif Moral of story, open your foil on the spot, don't waste petrol icon_lol.gif

I have two things to say.

1) Paula: You must be sporting a pair of the world largest testicles

2) Anyone who cares: Karma baby, oh yeah, sweet karma... But karma is akin to luck, karma ain't going to work when you sit on your big fat ass all day, you need to get out and try to get that karma to work in your favour. Yeah baby, go the hippie-capitalist nonsense!!!
