"Put the same time and effort (and some of the money) into supporting the Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party this election (this year) and your cannabis problems will be over!"

Where, the greens? hahahahhahahhahhahhahah.......plop icon_redface.gif sorry laughed my head off icon_wink.gif

Good on you ventrickle. What electorate are you in? Remember party vote then candidacy vote (that's if ALCP has a candidate in your area.)
+ the most important part, between now and the election convince as many of your friends as possible to do the same, and ensure that they are enrolled. (VERY IMPORTANT). Then text just before the election as well as on the day, make sure they go and VOTE Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party. (this is called "grass icon_biggrin.gif roots activism icon_wink.gif)
Let's get the pot off the streets and into the shop.

Power to the people sticking it to the man icon_twisted.gif

Last time I looked this site was called NORML (National Organisation for the Reform of Marijuana Laws)

You have two votes, surly you can spare one icon_wink.gif
What skin off your nose would it be to for one election to suspend your usual voting pattern and help get pot off the streets and into the pot-house (not run by gangs)

Be a leafticker

How easy would it be to obtain cannabis if it were legal?

Look Ive only voted once, and last time i voted green, which i thought was right at the time, but soon after thought was a waste. I never heard anything about ALCP at the time and I still have not heard much about it till now, how many votes did they get last time? how many expected will they get this time? I'm defiantly going to vote alcp this time, even tho i know nothing about them than the fact that they are the only party actively pursuing new cannabis legislation.
But this still doesn't solve the matter at hand , in the present, I haven't got any sweet herb to put in my tooter, at least i have saved enough money to buy a guitar tomorrow tho lol

I'm not a pessimist but a realist. There are very few true philanthropists in this world, everybody is self serving to some degree. Therefore we will vote for the party that benefits us most. Most people will consider a vote for the ALCP a waste on account of the fact that no other party will form a coalition with them, no matter what their need, as they know that the public will never allow it. You've got to change peoples perceptions before you can even hope to change the law. It's a PR campaign not a political one. My advice; share you're bud, change peoples opinions, and build on that. It's a war of attrition my friends.

Stonedfox20 Yes you are right, no one will want to form a coalition with us. But that is soooo 'first past the post' shit. What would happen if ALCP got over the 5% is SUDDENLY CANNABIS WOULD BE IN THE SPOTLIGHT icon_biggrin.gif International and NZ media will be over the cannabis issue like (Excuse the analogy) Flies on shit icon_twisted.gif Then you will see that the prohibitionists lobby will not be able to monopolise the media and the true facts on cannabis will be free. You will see people of standing feel the courage to stand up and say "hey guys I smoke pot, and you know I'm cool." You will see a huge increase in public smoking without the police doing too much about it.

The best and also the worst out come is you will see a sudo-legalisation, where the government will have to make legislation on the hop. This is where NORML jumps in and says "Look guys we have this regulation model here that will work icon_wink.gif

And that, Stonedfox20 is not dreaming, that is what will happen. - Unless United Future wins the majority of seats and lines all us smokers against the wall and shoots us, to protect us from cannabis icon_evil.gif

You say its a PR issue not a political one, I beg to differ, In ways its PR look at the cannibus putting a public view to smoking. But we need the political wing as well because that's the petition that you can sign without any come back to YOU icon_cool.gif

Politicians will do nothing about cannabis until Status Quo. changes. And it wont because you have a 4% chance of getting busted in NZ, so because prohibition doesn't really affect most smokers except for some in the area of availability you will see no change in the law.

I speak to non-smokers every Sunday at the markets. I have found that there is not a huge army of cannabis haters out there, just people who do not have any contact with the plant Cannabis Sativa (except unbeknowenly through some of their faimly/friends/co-workers/doctors/caregivers) and because it has no affect on their lives, they don't think about it (we do coz we smoke/grow or are looking for it). All they see is the negative headlines in the paper (most don't even read the articles) or the 90 second visual BULLSHIT on the TV NEWS. Because of this attitude people wont VOTE ALCP. So if we want to not be treated as fucken second class citizens we need to encourage our smoking friends and supporters to enrol, if they aren't already and to get off their lethargic arses on the day and VOTE for change. Other wise this site will still be going when you're an older fart in some home somewhere. And we will still see no change in the law. Why? Because its a "war of attrition".
(Attrition = n:a wearing down to waken or destroy.)

Where I see ALCP as a vehicle to be used to "RAM-RAID the beehive, drive it up those steps and smash through the doors.

Stonedfox20 be a realist and become a leafticker icon_wink.gif

Steven

I actually don't think Stonedfox20 is far off the mark,
It is to me a hearts and minds challenge first off , without a shift in the attitude of the great unwashed the powers that be can manipulate the cannabis situation to suit political ends.. as they have done for years.

Its only when they see a level of concern being expressed by the public at large , will they be forced to act.

I think Stonedfox20 gets it wrong and so do so many others in presuming the only value of a political party is to win a seat or seats and then not having a balance of power only become a seat filler ..

To me the main function of the likes of ALCP is to be a platform to win the hearts and minds.

There would be more than enough CLR supporters out there , that if they were to put up a united front, could well give even more of them confidence to come on board if it showed a CLR vote was not a total waste.

But even that comes second to early polls showing a CLR following , the media will prick up their ears , the likes of the NZDF and other expert people calling for change will get sort out.. those experts to date who have remain silent may well be encouraged to come out and share .

Then watch the other parties come round and start stealing ALCP policies .

We can win without one vote on election day for an CLR party .. its what happen before that counts .
But of course if it did get legs, and on election day the protest vote was high enough coupled with the CLRers who knows what the outcome would be..

We have just got to get out there and change minds , and use as many platforms as possible to spread the message.
