Nelson: Merry Cannabis this Saturday.
We’re going to be celebrating the festive season in style, with a smoking little get together on the Nelson Cathedral steps. Session begins High Noon, Saturday 18 December. Bring your buddies… |

Hey Duncan,
From my experence in Australia, unless you are trying to get arested, try having a cookie before you head off.
At the steps smoke a large parsley joint.
Be loud, bright & happy,Try doing up colourful signs that say "POT IS FUN" then let the police arrest you for smoking parsley! Thats more fun trust me!
Sorry I wont be able to join in, next time yeah!

Steve,
I don't think anyone will get busted at all. Julian, Abe and Bart organised a Merry Cannabis last year at the same place and it went smoothly. Maybe a few randoms sessioning might get hassled by police, but if a decent sized crowd turns up, like last year, it's too much of a hassle for the cops to deal with it.

Hey Steve,
it was a a success, but not without casualities- police were there before we were, which scared a lot of people off, but didn't stop those who did show up from lighting up defiantly.
however, I think the cops got outraged after about an hour of being chanted at about being fucking pigs and being a waste of time and told to fuck right off etc...and busted two members of Nelson's version of the Kelly gang- Jules and Alex Crawford.
check out the story and photos on the NORML homepage.
btw...i was wrong you were right...people got busted. fuck. |

The only wrong, is the law Duncan!
imagine if those joints were parsley ...... Now that would have been more fun as the arrests would have been unlawful!
I saw the photos! Undercovers are SOOOOO udercover, and it's always interesting how they always go for the most feral? So the Joes reading the evening paper don't see clean cut citizens getting arrested.
Be strong and hopfully the next one i can be part off.
