Hey Rowan .. i wa brought up in Pubs, my Dad was a publican and we moved from place to place. My first intro as such was when you could smell it wafting across the car park .. parents just said it was some people smoking wacky backy .. didn't receive anymore explaination than that.
When i was 18 i met my first boyfriend, who was 16 years older than me (who was looking for a father figure) .. he was quite a heavy smoker and he introduced me to it. I enjoyed it, but not the people he hung out with .. they were all dealers but were the type who went around stealing from other people including friends (no offence to any of you ..that was 15 years ago and the type of people he associated with and i understand that not everyone like that ) )

I was brought up to stay away for drugs, told that smoking pot makes you go crazy and makes your brain go numb ( which makes me laugh considering my quite inteligent for someone who has been smoking straight for the last 3 years ) and other such nonsense like it's stunt your growth and it affects muscle growth. Well I do stay away from drugs even no percription drugs cos in my eyes marijuana insn't a drug it's a plant a powerful herb which I can use to stop nausia headaces it's even being used for people with eating disorders.
I think to many people see drugs take control of peoples lives so it's is always percived as a bad thing especially when it's somthing " against the law" then it seems so much worse but at the end of the day it's a plant and we have rights. |

| Hey i agree bigtoker i don't see it as a drug either .. its a natural god given plant, that just has some bonuses lol. Its unfortunate that so many people see it as an 'evil' thing. |

| I hate the way people class us as a people a socity as " druggies " just because someone classed it as a drug doesn't make everyone who uses it a low life and certainly no " druggie "! |

A cop came to school back in form 3 or 4 and basicly told us nothing good about the drug. He just told us how he'd seen it ruin so many lives and how we'd screw up our brains and our family relationships would go to hell because of it.
I'm not saying it's entirely untrue. I go to school with a lot of munters who need to be kept off it because they form dependencies. It just pisses me off that it's people like those dickheads who shape the marijuana laws and throw a negative image over all of us.
That was the first formal education I ever received. I wouldn't exactly call that education, though. |

I went through the Life Education program when I was in primary school (think it was Standard 4) and the DARE program as well. I was convinced I wasn't going to drink or smoke cigs, let alone even touch marijuana. We weren't taught that much about pot - just that we should say "No" if offered it.
By the time I got to college, all that horseshit was pushed out of my head and I didn't even take notice of it. First I tried smoking cigs (curious about it), which was a brief affair. Me and a friend were really quite curious about trying pot - we wondered what it was like to get stoned. So we went about trying to find some and eventually tried it.
That was it - simple curiosity. No peer pressure or anything like that. More like a conscious decision of "Hmm, wonder what that feels like? I'm gonna give it a shot if we can get some".
I've just been fairly open minded about most new experiences. _________________ "There are no good and bad drugs, only good and bad relationships with drugs" |
