Thanks realist my kudo's go out to those who wrote those letters in response to Mcleods piece of bile, I just typed them up here for others to read .
I would generally say the dompost is anti cannabis users and they did run the maori/lung cancer junk science story on the front page where as the letters are tucked away mid paper.
They also use pauline gardiner as one of their main "drug experts" and we all know what a liar and sour faced nay sayer she is.
It was good to read those letters though and I can only presume the reasons they did not publish supportive letters of Mcleods piece of garbage was because they did not recieve any.
I have not read any pro or anti cannabis letters published since in the dompost but will type them up when there are more. |

moari are just more geneticly inclined to get cancer i think.
eny one with a family history of cancers should not smoke eny thing.
my grandfather gave up smoking in his late sixtys and my grate gran dad gave up late in his early 70,s and lived to 84, so i feel my chances are better than most of geting away with abusing my lungs .
should i one day get the "C" i know iv weighed the risks taken my chances and wont be crying about it.
just as with dibeatys{yes i know i cant spell thank u 4 ur concern} studying your familly medical history is the best way of finding out what you got to look forward too.
and eny way is it so importent to live so long till ur siting in a pool of your own piss not remembering what day or year it is, sucking up heaps of gov and hospital resorses just so you can crap in your pants for one more day.
why are we so obsesed with our own mortality eny way?
you can be suffering a horrible slow death in pain and shame and the law says you have no choise in the matter be cause the law makers also cant accept their own mortalitty.
we are forced to live in states that they would jail you for if you kept a dog that sick and screaming in pain. |

I was amazed to hear the story yesterday about the Maori Party wanting to ban smoking tobacco entirely, to stop people harming themselves with it.
As silly and illogical as it sounds, the Prime Minister's response (admittedly through an indirect quote by Duncan Garner on 3 News) to the suggestion was even more astounding.
She said apparently said such a move would amount to prohibition, and turn smokers into criminals.
WTF?
You're damned right it would, Helen. How ridiculous, to turn a health issue into a legal one and tell people what they can and can't smoke. Now, would you mind sending that memo to Jimmy Anderton and cc'ing Peter Dunne? |

| this thread is awesome.....gotta love the letter on poeple who skydive etc it might be harmless to their health. every day of my life i am debating with people close to me why weed is good for the planet and for them. "a joint a week keeps the psycho asleep". people who think weed is bad should see the psyched up people around us all stressing about all kinds of rubbish, yet, these same people would never sit down with 2 or 3 others and have a joint with them and see how calm and relaxed and open minded normal people they really are. I love stoners, they are the worlds best people to be around! |

cmon guys... almost everything in the paper is gona offend people in different ways... you can never make EVERYONE happy at once.Althou i agree they may have wanted to add some more pro facts about the reduced risk when using vapourizes an also the 6.66 cigs = 1 jay thing also shouldve been adressed.WEED doesnt cause any problems wat so ever.... but when smoked its not the "weed" damaging you its the tar an ash ect (every1 knows that im sure) so how can it not cause damage to your lungs.i smoke alot an i notice the effects it had on my health i have never used a vapourizer (but definatly goan get one soon i think) i mean saying weed isnt bad is definately wrong... because its not good for your health.but i think saying its extremely bad an brianwashing ppl with overwhelming negative facts aint right either... guess they had to draw the line somewhere. An another reason they may have condeemed it maybe because they dont want the paper getting a "drug supporting" label on it.I think you guys are very right for your letters ect but i also think you may have been a little how do i say "pushy" with your views. because youre sorta doing what theyre doing but instead of condeeming it your for the pro side of it...
DONT GET ME WRONG! I LOVE WEED AN IT NEEDS TO BE LEGAL! i just read them an thought u guys may have been a lil harsh on the writers.
(no offense intened by anything said so please dont take this to heart because i totaly agree with normal's views an opinions) |

smokeymcpott: you are right about the health risks of cannabis.
It is a cellulose based plant meaning it contains tar.
Educating the narrow minded on what a vaporiser does is important.
The part of the plant that is important to us is the crystals that form on the leaves, not the actual plant itself. Heating the plant material to 180 degrees C vaporises these crystals but leaves the actual plant untouched.
This process makes using cannabis safe, and free of negative health effects. _________________ A pain free day the marijuana way.

"there are genetic differences in the way Maori absorb nicotine"
This is what I wrote down. I heard it during some discussion somewhere recently about Beasley's research.
Sorry not to have posted it earlier, big cleanout going on here of little bits of notes . . . |
