Yes of course it is unfair and bullshit. Unfortunately unfair bullshit things happen all the time.
Did all this happen today ? I didn't know expulsion could be instant, doesn't it have to go through the Board of Trustees first?
I hope your parents are supporting you . . . |

paula ...... I could only agree with you if he was one of the Teachers . He did not say (grin) . Then it might be instant expulsion or stand down..
If he is a pupil then I would suggest he should avoid having it at school , not a good idea .. If he was a teacher then its unfair and bullshit..

Ha ! it didn't occur to me that this person could be a teacher, I just assumed . . .
However, given that the single biggest indicator that a young person will ruin their lives is exclusion from school - for whatever reason - I am concerned anyway.
Or it may be just someone pulling our chain too . . . |

| I am 16 and it the only time I have been in trouble at school. What pissed me off even more is the board were trying to talk about the long term effects of using it once when they were a bunch of goody-good fuckwits who have never even seen it. |

Damn, what sort of school would do that then, and especially when you've been in no other strife... I agree, their ignorance is appalling, and I hope you are keeping as cool a head as possible.
Unfortunately it is a hypocrisy that a lot of parents who smoke themselves, or did when they were young, ignore. So it may be pretty hard to communicate effectively with them. Please try not to get too hung up on the ugliness of it all, it can be shocking enough to make you really angry.
The ease of acquiring drugs these days, ie. having tinnie houses everywhere, must really complicate things for young people. The 1991 Proceeds of Crime Act meant gangs moved dealing out of their clubhouses that they owned - so they wouldn't get confiscated under the Act - and many ordinary NZers who previously dealt low key stopped altogether, for the same reason.
It sure was better when cannabis dealing was contextualised in a non-gang environment, and damn, we still - after all this time - have so much bullshit about cannabis in the media that non-smokers have such wicked ideas about it. |

This is the first part of an article from today's Press in Christchurch - | Quote: |
http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/0,2106,3723712a10,00.html
Growing drug use among primary school pupils is prompting boards of trustees to call for more drug tests across all ages.
Thirty-three children were stood down or suspended from Canterbury primary schools last year for drug-related reasons – more than three times as many as in 2004, when 10 pupils were suspended.
While the drug problem is far more serious in secondary schools, where 214 Canterbury students were stood down last year, school authorities say increased drug use among primary-aged children is disturbing.
At the New Zealand School Trustees' Association annual conference in Christchurch yesterday, trustees called for more testing as it was the most effective way to deal with children caught using, selling or possessing drugs... [snip] |
looks as though whoever sells drug test equipment will make plenty of money, its not cheap. |

Dear yeah-nah,
Can you please explain to me - preferably in 20 words or less so I don't get confused - why you would take pot to school and smoke it there ?? I know it goes on a lot these days but, call me an old fuddy duddy if you must, I just don't see the sense in it. To me, doing it at school is a complete waste of both your time and money ? |

mmm, yes i agree with you - it is a waste of time and money. i have no idea why he brought bud to school and smoked it there.. guess he just didnt think enough. or maybe he was trying to impress his mates.
i would never bring it to school unless i had to, and if i did, i wouldnt even think about smoking it there. |

You sure they can just expel you like that... i went to christchurch boys high an alota people got caught with drugs (an often more than once) an almost all of them got suspended but were allowed back in 1week which i think is senseable.
an instant expel... just dont seem right to me
i know you shouldnt have to do this, but it may be time to suck up like youve never sucked up b4.. if you show you are better from the exp you might just be let away with it an be at school next week... if i were you id write a letter of apology to who ever is the whiny BIT*H that expelled you in the first place. anyways best of luck |

| yea dealing to kids aint to good.. esp when its the 3rd formers who mostly wont even know what theyre buying.i wish it was legal so i could just buy a pouch from the shop.maybe the governtment could fund the production of it, to make money an use the money to make kids an people more aware of the risks an things associated with it. i mean the health benifits with a vapourizer must be way way way better than smoking tabbaco in a rollie.... an i mean we have alchol an partypills legal which are pretty much in the same bag ... |
