Hemp Store Vaporizer Posted: Wed Aug 31, 2005 9:32 pm
Does anyone here have any info on the vaporizer they sell at the hemp store?
Ive decided i should invest in a vaporizer because of my training as its safer on the lungs, among other benefits. So does anyone have any real information on this product? The hemp store claims that it has 99% effeciency, or that it gives you 99% THC in every hit (something crazy like that), but im skeptical.
Ive read studys that say vaporizers only average at about 40% THC per hit, and still contain various tars and other carcinogenic compounds. But maybe this is another type altogether. Basically, i have no solid info on this subject, and want to make an informed decision on whether to just buy this one or buy a more expensive one over the net.
So if anyone here can tell me about their own experiences using the thing or can point me in the direction of a review or comparison or something, that would be much appreciated.

Oh yeah, I have one of those. They're very efficient but take a few goes to get used to in my experience. You gotta grind or chop your herbs very finely to aid vapourization, THC may not be fully extracted from spot sized lumps.
Some of my friends don't like using it, they prefer the stronger hit that my hookah pipe offers, I think it's mostly a matter of patience as it can take several minutes of breathing the vapour to get it all.
IMO it's worth the cost and extra time, the flavour of your ganja comes through so cleanly, leaves such a nice taste. I love my hookah but like any pipe there's always the cutty toke...
They're odd to use, at first there's barely a taste, like a faint whiff of cured herb, which builds up as you breathe and hold. It's a curious design too, I expected air to be drawn directly over the heated herbs and through the pipe, but the vapour is drawn into the base by clever use of air dynamics. As you pull, fresh air circulates around the sides of the base and causes the vapour to funnel down into the centre and into the pipe.
Ten minutes after you're finished you really notice the difference, there's no combustion so no loss of THC, meaning a better hit. Burning also means pyrolysis, the transformation of molecules by heat which can result in thousands of byproduct chemicals ending up in your lungs and bloodstream.
If you're concerned for your lungs and need the capacity (to swim or play the trumpet etc) go for it! A cheaper alternative is using a magnifying glass to focus sunlight onto the loaded cone, on a nice day you'll get all your vapour no probs

The BC ( its a british columbian model) is not bad at all , value for money, hard to beat. they do have a heat control variation that needs watching. Leave them on too long they over heat and burn , I use a lazer temp reader and control the element temp by switching it on and off. Also have a number of glass jars so I use a cold one all the time, I even keep them in the fridge when possible.
I have made small wire mess basket that fits over the bowl as a lid , I can load the bowl and by shaking continually keep new herb on the hot part.
This works well for medical users who may be using low THC and high in the other canabinoids product in larger quantities.
A New Zealand company has developed a rather clever medical appliance. It is a well temperature controlled 12 volt unit that takes a measured plug for controlled dose. It has a inhalation tube that has non reurn valves so you breath back into it , the return air is expaled after passing through carbon filters to take out odours and smoke. They will go into production as soon as the legislation allows it.
At the moment medical users have a real problem when in hospital and on nil by mouth , cookies ect are out , try lighting a joint in a hospital room ??? , I do not know what others do but for me its a topical rub using grapes seed oil infusion , having a bed rolled outside and quick sucks on a smokeless.
A medical team who is supportive means on occassions you can hide a vap and use it discretly . I have a radio with an Inavap model in it , but its complex to reload discretly , ohh not to have your medication planning added to the burden of it all.
Something most people including a lot of medical users do not understand is that some of the most effective benifits from medical cannabis come from product that does not make you high , in fact it may be that the THC level is so critical that too much is actually counter productive. It regular small hits of early harvest ( two weeks prior to optimum THC ) and then of selected varieties that are higher in other cannabiniods.
I strongly suggest anyone who uses medipot to do so with a vap whenever possible. It will help support the argument that a safe way does exist to use in raw leaf and that to wait or even insist on the expensive GW product is pointless.
I was going to buy the BC Vapouriser, just because aparently it's better for your lungs, and better high no?
The Kind kids at cozmic corner said they have now shipped the BC vapourisers for as cheap as possible 150 dollors so it beats the Ounce/vapouriser theorm..
I also like the vapouriser because i would say the smoke won't make rooms you are smoking in it stink of weed, for the nosie bastards.. doing there thing... mmm blunts are still a GOGO just because they are so darn great.

Hi there all you pot heads I've been polluting my lungs for 30trs or more with tabacco and pot, some times 24/7.Have just stopped smoking ciggys. (Book) by Allan Carr amazing!! . then thought of all the other shit from any burnt plant material so have bought a BC vapouriser $148.00 fromSOG. What can I say. Makes your pot taste like hash. And no harsh tar and carbon taste. even the small amount of tar if u over cook it, is golden in colour and sticks to the jar it smells nice too. As to the stone!! Yes you think, : am I stoned? cos it taste like it didnt work but 5-10mins later you are raving like a nutter, now as I look at it that meens it works. The stone comes on and on like hash or goood cookies.but be a pig cos its nice.no other way to do it.Not that you have to turn down a nice sticky skunky joint or a well filled pipe. but for routine it's better than filters on ya ciggy, yes I'm ranting like a nutter. so go on try one

The Bong! Posted: Sun Oct 30, 2005 11:27 am
I've never used a vaporiser, but i've seen the price tags on them and obviously know how they work. I reckon if you get a bong - double filter it and chill the water, its win win win. Cos you get all the taste, all the stone, none of the raspyness and bugger all of the carcinogens compared to joints. Bongs man!! Thats what I use! Tick!
