Who saw Scratch Perry and the Mad Professor? Posted: Tue Sep 20, 2005 6:24 pm |

I've barely recovered from the Friday concert in Dunedin...
Awesome, huge dubs, wall of sound, and fun to watch. Such a cool little man, so full of life, you could see the years of dancing every time he moved.
Sammy's doesn't sound so good at such massive volume but in the right places (like partway up the stairs) the sound was phenomenal. It was nearly too intense for me to get to the dancefloor, I had to take ear breaks every hour or so.
The Irie Eyes rocked Arc afterwards, excellent live dub reggae.
I took some photos (real ones! Actual film) which I could scan and upload once developed. Gonna take a trip and use up the rest of the film tonight
Perhaps the saddest thing about this is that I probably will never see Lee Perry in concert again, hear his Truth As It Happens.
Pipe up you lot.
Peace

Missed out on a ticket to the Auckland show as it sold out quite far in advance but heard it was a wicked show!
Go hard man, post up the photos if you can be bothered scanning them! |

Yeah, I went to the Auckland show at the studio on Sunday.
The place was packed.
Glad I made the trip up. |

At last, photos are developed and I got around to taking digital shots of them. I tend to have far too many projects on the go at once to really get things done quick...
Here's one I had to take from the negative, the developer had the brightness set so the stage was way overexposed... strange.
And the other one. Speaker stacks are huge, much bigger than they look. Simple setup.
Funny thing, I thought I'd taken far more pictures
I guess I was a bit
Har har.
Peace
