Rt Hon Winston Peters
Party: NZ First
Electorate: List MP
NORML comment: Supported a referendum in 1996 (purely to take ALCP votes?) but then actively stifled debate since that election, "we have more important things to think about".

Dear Mr Hanson
Your question in relation to New Zealand First's stance on cannabis is straight forward. New Zealand First believes it should remain an illegal substance as we do for all illicit drugs.
The negative consequences of cannabis use are well documented and for this reason we would advocate that it remain illegal. While the same may be said of alcohol, alcohol remains socially acceptable to society at large, but cannabis does not. These two factors combined provide the basis for our stance in relation to cannabis.
I hope this answers your question.
Yours sincerely
Bronwyn Bezett

What is your party’s policy on cannabis? I am not interested in any other drug just cannabis. Do you feel it should remain illegal? If you do why? |

Hi there!
I am an artist living in the BOP, and I did a portrait for Winston Peters and sent it to him! He very kindly sent me back a lovely letter of Thanks, as well as some very helpful information to help me with my art career.
I am also a single parent who is about to have a book published. The book is called "Solo Angels' and is a collection of the 'untold tales' and survival stories from NZ single Parents. Winston Peters was also very encouraging with this project.
I think Winston Peters is a brilliant politician, and will continue to be a power house of strength to country!
Go Winston! I salute you!
