Rodney has been consistent in his dialogue with me for years. "I would legalise all drugs" - indeed, at the Canterbury ACT Xmas do in 2003, Clifford Wallace Thornton Jr. was the keynote guest to whit, Rodney applauded and said in his rallying call to the ACT candidates, supporters and partners - "I agree with everything that man said" and went on to explain some of the absurdity in the drug legislation. During the 2004 "leadership" forums ACT held to give its regional membership vote a new leader in a run-off election (like STV) Rodney answered the hard questions from the Christchurch floor in a forthright and robust manner, again consistent with ACT principles, but not always in fellowship with his contendees.
All praise to the man, he come through, won the leadership and never compromised on his wholesale reform position . He deserves a bloody medal! / Blair |
