NORML comment:
Supports decriminalisation, and/or holding a national referendum. She says the huge amounts of public money could be "better spent on education and treatment", but she needs to see more public support before she will act. "However, I know that alcohol and cannabis have a greater effect on people with mental illness, and that self medication amongst younger mental health patients sometimes leads to the very serious offences and situations that have been in the media lately."
