 Press Releases: NORML 2005 Conference: November 25-27, Mt Hutt, South Island

About NORMLTo be held in the foothills of Mt Hutt near the picturesque Rakaia Gorge, an hours drive west of Christchurch, 25 – 27 November.

THEME:
“Respect the Majority”

AIM: To develop and confirm a strategy for reform under the newly elected Parliament. Generate plan(s) of action

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? All those with the energy and will to hit cannabis prohibition on the head! Activists, lobbyists, researchers campaigners or those who want to learn about campaigning.

PROGRAM: indicative only - bookmark this page to see the full programme as it is developed.
Friday night: learning from other campaigns
Saturday: reports from regions on activities over the past year; discussing NORML’s Strategic Plan for 2006-2008; guest speakers; Panel discussion to begin strategy development (input from members of National, Labour, Greens, ALCP, Libertarainz is expected); NORML AGM (elect officers, approve accounts etc)
Sunday: workshops: Dealing with the media, other campaigns case-studies (MMP, Anti-Apartheid, Gay-Law reform)

COST: your options are:
$30 for whole weekend (Fri evening until Sunday afternoon) – includes all food - a bargain!
or $20 for Saturday food only (Fri night to Sat evening)
or $15 for Sunday only

Please note the groundrule: No speaking or eating rights unless the fee has been paid!

MEALS: Vegans, vegetarians & omnivores catered for but please tell us your needs (see contact info over page). We have a very competent catering manager. Some kitchen help will be needed however (would you like to volunteer?).

ACCOMMODATION: Lyall Holmes Lodge, Mt Hutt.

BRING: Sleeping Bag & Pillow. Musical instruments & entertainment. A great attitude!

TRANSPORT: If you can get to Christchurch, we’ll get you to Mt Hutt. We can help coordinate car-pooling from other centres.
