 | Medical user Neville Yates found guilty |
Today in Christchurch, medical marijuana user Neville Yates, was found guilty of cultivation. Neville has been defiantly standing up against the system for access to his medicinal pot - he has nine previous convictions, the last being in 1999 - an eighteen month sentence reduced to nine on appeal.
Neville is a one-legged invalid who uses a wheelchair and who turned to cannabis as a way to successfully deal with chronic pain and get off the prescription methadone and valium he was heavily addicted to.

There is further information on the Mild Greens' Neville Yates page and on Blair Anderson's blog.
According to the Mild Greens, Neville had only 4 tiny little plants in earth in pots, with a thrown together collection of old shoddy equipment (two lights and a timer). However throughout the case the police referred to this as a sophisticated hydroponic operation, and it seems the judge believed the police evidence.
