People with aids and cancer can obtain the soft drug marihuana with a doctors prescription. The 'mediweed', marihuana for medicinal use, is in form of a capsule. (i.e. Marinol)

Pharmacists say that very sick patients must be able to obtain their drug of choice.

Vice president F. Kingma of the Netherlands Multiple Sclerosis Society thinks that MS-patients should be able to use this soft drug. It is said that Marihuana could alleviate physical symptoms. One out of twenty people with Multiple Sclerosis use cannabis in the Netherlands.

Currently 60% of the MS-patients buys their cannabis in a coffeeshop.

Half of the patients not yet using cannabis say they want to give it a try.

The majority of MS-patients started using cannabis after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

Kingma favors a large scale scientific investigation with the objective of legalizing soft drugs for chronically ill patients.
