Canadian Goverment recommends law reform

Like every other government-level report before it, the report has disproven many of the "reefer madness" myths surrounding cannabis, and has recommended ending the criminalisation of cannabis users. More details >>.
Health Select Committee inquiry into health issues associated with cannabis. The terms of reference for the inquiry are: To inquire into the most effective public health and health promotion strategies to minimise the use of and the harm associated with cannabis and consequently the most appropriate legal status of cannabis. Over 500 submissions from members of the public were received and oral hearings were held in 6 centres in 2001. The committee failed to report before the 2002 election. See our coverage of the hearings.
